SUBJECT: HUMAN // LEGAL
Privacy Policy
Effective September 22, 2026
1. Overview
Subject: Human is operated by JMR Holdings LLC. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use Subject: Human, why we collect it, how it is used, when it may be displayed publicly, and the choices available to you.
2. Information We Collect
Depending on how you interact with Subject: Human, we may collect information you provide directly, including your display name, email address, uploaded image, selected purchase duration, and information necessary to process and schedule your participation.
We may also process technical information necessary to operate the service, such as browser-provided timezone information, transaction identifiers, scheduling information, and standard technical request information.
3. Public Information
Experiment 001, The Most Important Person on the Internet, is a public experience. The display name and image you submit are intended to be displayed publicly on Subject: Human during your scheduled observation period.
Do not submit information in your display name or image that you do not want made public. We recommend using only a first name, nickname, or first name and last initial and avoiding images that reveal addresses, license plates, school names, workplace badges, or other personal information.
Your email address is not intended to be displayed publicly.
4. Uploaded Images
Uploaded images are processed before storage. Subject: Human re-encodes uploaded profile images before storing them, which is intended to remove embedded metadata such as EXIF and GPS information.
Images may also be automatically reviewed for compliance with our content standards. Images containing prohibited or inappropriate material may be rejected or removed.
By uploading an image, you represent that you own the image or have permission to use it. If an image depicts a minor, you represent that you are the minor's parent or legal guardian or have permission from the minor's parent or legal guardian to use the image on Subject: Human.
5. Photo Retention
Profile photos used for Experiment 001 are retained only for a limited period. Our system is designed to remove the stored profile photo approximately 30 days after the participant's observation period ends.
After deletion, the associated participation record may remain without the profile photo for operational, recordkeeping, security, fraud-prevention, or legal purposes.
6. How We Use Information
We use information collected through Subject: Human to operate the experiments and website, process transactions, schedule participation, display authorized public content, send confirmations and service-related messages, create participation records and certificates, prevent abuse, moderate content, provide customer support, maintain security, and improve the service.
7. Payments
Payments are processed through third-party payment providers. Subject: Human does not need to store your complete payment-card number in order to provide Experiment 001. Payment providers may collect and process payment and transaction information according to their own privacy policies and legal obligations.
8. Service Providers
We use third-party service providers to operate Subject: Human, including providers for website hosting, databases and storage, payments, email delivery, security, content moderation, and other technical infrastructure. These providers may process information as necessary to perform services on our behalf.
9. Content Moderation and Safety
Submitted names and images may be processed by automated systems to help determine whether they comply with Subject: Human's content and safety standards. Content may be rejected, hidden, or removed when necessary to protect users, the public, or the service.
10. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. Information may be shared with service providers when necessary to operate Subject: Human, process transactions, provide requested services, protect the service against abuse or fraud, comply with applicable law, or respond to valid legal requests.
Information you intentionally submit for public display, such as your approved display name and profile image, is public during the portions of the experience in which it is displayed.
11. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information handled by Subject: Human. No internet service or storage system can guarantee absolute security, however, and we cannot promise that unauthorized access or other security incidents will never occur.
12. Your Choices and Requests
You may contact us with questions about your information or to request correction or deletion of personal information associated with your participation. Some information may need to be retained when required for transaction records, fraud prevention, security, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or other legitimate business purposes.
Requests may be sent to contact@subject-human.com.
13. Children's Privacy
You must be at least 18 years old to purchase or participate in Subject: Human experiments. Minors may not independently purchase, register for, or participate in Experiment 001. An adult participant may upload an image depicting a minor only if the adult is the minor's parent or legal guardian or has permission from the minor's parent or legal guardian to use the image on Subject: Human.
If you believe personal information concerning a child has been submitted without appropriate authorization, contact us so that we can review the situation and take appropriate action.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Subject: Human evolves, including as new experiments, features, or services are introduced. When the policy is updated, the effective date shown above may also be updated.
