SUBJECT: HUMAN // LEGAL
Terms of Use
Effective September 22, 2026
1. About Subject: Human
Subject: Human is an entertainment website operated by JMR Holdings LLC. The website presents interactive online experiences referred to as experiments.
These Terms of Use apply to your access to and use of subject-human.com, including purchases and participation in Subject: Human experiments.
By using the website or purchasing participation in an experiment, you agree to these Terms.
2. Age Requirement
You must be at least 18 years old to purchase or participate in a Subject: Human experiment.
By making a purchase or submitting information for participation, you represent that you are at least 18 years old.
3. Experiment 001 — The Most Important Person on the Internet
Experiment 001 allows a participant to purchase a scheduled period during which the participant is designated by Subject: Human as “The Most Important Person on the Internet.”
This designation is an entertainment feature of Subject: Human. It does not represent an objective, governmental, professional, social, or otherwise independently recognized status.
The participant's approved display name and approved image may be displayed publicly on the Subject: Human website during the participant's scheduled observation period.
Purchased time applies only to the Subject: Human experience and does not grant control over, ownership of, or special status on the internet generally.
4. Scheduling
Observation periods are scheduled according to availability and the Subject: Human scheduling system.
Before purchase, the website may display an estimated booking window rather than an exact observation time. The exact scheduled time is assigned after successful payment and will be communicated to the purchaser.
All scheduling information is subject to the operation of the website and its supporting systems. Subject: Human may adjust a scheduled period when reasonably necessary because of technical failures, outages, security incidents, or other circumstances affecting operation of the service.
5. Payments
Prices are displayed before checkout. By completing a purchase, you authorize the applicable payment processor to charge the amount shown at checkout.
Payment processing may be provided by third-party payment providers. Subject: Human does not directly store complete payment card information.
6. Refunds and Cancellations
A participant may request cancellation and a full refund before the participant's scheduled observation period begins, subject to the cancellation process provided by Subject: Human.
Once the scheduled observation period has begun, the purchase is no longer eligible for cancellation through the standard self-service refund process.
If Subject: Human is unable to provide a purchased observation period because of a failure attributable to the service, Subject: Human may provide an appropriate remedy such as rescheduling or a refund.
7. Names, Images, and Submitted Content
You are responsible for the information and content you submit. You may not submit content that you do not have the right or permission to use.
By submitting an image, you confirm that you own the image or have permission to use it for the Subject: Human experience.
If an uploaded image depicts a minor, you confirm that you are the minor's parent or legal guardian, or that you have permission from the minor's parent or legal guardian to use the image in this manner.
By submitting a display name, image, or other participant content, you grant JMR Holdings LLC a limited, non-exclusive license to process, reproduce, display, and otherwise use that content as reasonably necessary to provide, operate, secure, document, and administer the purchased Subject: Human experience.
You retain any ownership rights you otherwise have in your submitted content.
8. Public Display and Privacy
Experiment 001 is intentionally public. The display name and image submitted for the experiment may be visible to anyone who visits the website during the applicable observation period.
Participants should not submit sensitive personal information or images containing information they do not want publicly visible, including home addresses, license plates, school names, workplace credentials, identification documents, or similar information.
Email addresses submitted for purchasing, scheduling, or service communications are not intended for public display.
Additional information regarding collection and handling of personal information is provided in the Subject: Human Privacy Policy.
9. Content Standards
Subject: Human is intended to remain appropriate for a broad audience. Submitted names, images, and other content may be automatically or manually reviewed.
Content may be rejected, hidden, or removed if it includes or promotes sexually explicit material, graphic violence, hateful or extremist material, obscene gestures or language, unlawful content, harassment, impersonation, exploitation, or other material that Subject: Human reasonably determines is unsuitable for the service.
Subject: Human may refuse or remove submitted content when reasonably necessary to protect participants, visitors, the service, or third parties.
10. Certificates
Subject: Human may provide participants with a digital certificate or similar record documenting completion of an experiment.
Certificates are novelty records created for entertainment and commemorative purposes. They are not government records, professional credentials, awards from an independent authority, or proof of any status outside Subject: Human.
11. Acceptable Use
You may not use Subject: Human to violate applicable law, interfere with the operation or security of the website, attempt unauthorized access to systems or accounts, abuse payment or refund systems, distribute malicious software, scrape or overload the service in a disruptive manner, or infringe the rights of another person.
12. Intellectual Property
Subject: Human's website design, branding, experiment concepts as expressed on the website, original text, graphics, certificates, software, and other original materials are owned by or licensed to JMR Holdings LLC and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
These Terms do not transfer ownership of Subject: Human intellectual property to participants or visitors.
13. Availability and Changes
Subject: Human may modify, suspend, discontinue, replace, or add experiments and website features from time to time.
We do not guarantee that the website will operate without interruption or error at all times. Maintenance, third-party service failures, internet outages, security events, or other circumstances may temporarily affect availability.
14. Disclaimers
Subject: Human is provided for entertainment purposes. Except as required by applicable law, the service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties that the service will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at a particular time.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, JMR Holdings LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of Subject: Human.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law.
16. Changes to These Terms
These Terms may be updated as Subject: Human develops or as legal, operational, or technical requirements change. The current version will be posted on this page with its effective date.
